The Plainfield Historical Society believes that an understanding and appreciation of our town’s historical heritage and the people involved in that history are essential in sustaining a unique and meaningful identity as a community.  In keeping with our 1961 charter, our mission is to assemble and preserve historical records, objects and antiquities identified with the town and its residents and to maintain them for the benefit of the townspeople, the general public and posterity. To further the understanding of our unique heritage we encourage and assist in the exploration and appreciation of sites, structures and landscapes of historical significance in Plainfield. – May 2013
